About the Practitioner

Jim Riddell

Jim brings together a background in a variety of bodywork, spiritual, and practical traditions to create Body Heart Spirit Wisdom.

His life has been anything but a straight line, which lends a richness of experience his clients find inspiring and helpful.

Degrees: Beginning with a degree in Physics from Dartmouth College, he earned a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary, and served for a decade as an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ (UCC), and has meanwhile explored and developed a deep appreciation for a variety of other religious and spiritual traditions as well.

Since leaving the formal ministry and the church, he has engaged in work as diverse as being a whitewater rafting guide, doing community organizing advocacy on behalf of local wild places, business consulting, planning a restaurant, and for nine seasons teaching skiing for people with disabilities (Level 1 PSIA certification).

Ortho-Bionomy® Certification: Jim first became aware of Ortho-Bionomy in the late 1980's, and has always appreciated its power, effectiveness and beauty,  but only began formal training in early 2013. He has been taking all the classes he can ever since, and is currently certified by the Society of Ortho-Bionomy International (SOBI) as a Practitioner.

Described by many as an "Old Soul" (by others as ADHD!), Jim has a broad awareness of what life is like for many other people, can relate well to others' struggles and celebrations. Jim has a knack for being able to see the depths of life, and still get to the central focus of a specific issue.

"Why do I do this work? I do for others what I would want for myself. When I'm in pain or crisis, I want someone to be there for me, someone to touch me with compassion and healing, someone with wisdom to shine a light on their path to help me see mine...

"I love it when I can have a role, however small, in helping someone find more joy, beauty and delight in life."

When he's not doing bodywork, Jim loves to be outdoors, experiencing fresh air and wild places, envigorating activity or stimulating conversation, or in the kitchen and garden, creating fresh healthy organic food and hand-crafted artisan breads.
